Since we’re all newbies in the race, we decided to follow Joe De Sena’s training plan.
Day 0 – the Fit Test
The warm up involved a bit of jogging on the spot, some bear crawls, walking lunges, and squats.
What!? This is just the warm up??? – SC
The Fitness Test:
- Hang from a bar for as long as you can – 15 seconds. Wow. It’s funny how slowly time moves when you’re hanging from a bar.
- Complete as many “race form” burpees as you can in 5 minutes – I lost count. Maybe 30? Definitely not “race form”. Not even sure if we managed one in “race form”. The penalty for not completing an obstacle is 30 burpees. Suddenly, I don’t want to opt for the penalty of missing an obstacle.
- Run as far as you can in 30 minutes – 4 km. And it was flat.
Yes. We have a long way to go…
